This exceptional looking aesthetic knot is the invention of Charlie Truong who combined the Trinity knot with a few extra steps to give rise to this masterpiece. Although great skill and gentleness is required to tie the Intrinity knot, we have simplified the steps to help out beginners in tying this knot. One thing to keep in mind before proceeding with the tying process is that you should have an extra long necktie else it would be really difficult to finish off with this stylish knot. So let’s get started.
Step-1Drape the necktie around your collar such that the wide end is on your left side and the narrow end hangs on your right side. This knot is tied using the narrow end so it will be comparatively longer than the wide end. The wide end will be placed slightly above the beltline.
Step-2Pinch the wide end to create a dimple in it.
Step-3Bring the wide end to the middle and cross the narrow end to the left side from over the wide end.
Step-4 Feed the narrow end up and through the back of your necktie knot and bring it back down on the right side.
Step-5Wrap the narrow end around the back of the forming knot. By the end of this step, your narrow end would be in the left region with the seam facing outward. Keep the knot nice and tight to save fabric for further steps.
Step-6Bring the narrow end into the right region from across the front of the knot. This would create a horizontal band on the front of the knot.
Step-7Feed the little end upward through the back of the necktie knot and bring it back down on the front.
Step-8Feed the tip of the narrow end into the horizontal band created in the previous step and pull the end all the way through. Tighten the horizontal band through which you just passed the narrow end but loosen the loop created just on top of the knot. Let’s name it ‘Loop 1’ for making further discussion easier. .
Step-9Bring the narrow end around the back of the wide end so that it now lies in the right region with the seam facing outward.
Step-10Feed the tip of the narrow end through Loop 1. The narrow end would now lie in the left region.
Step-11Feed the narrow end through the top of the collar loop on the left side, bringing it back down on the same side.
Step-12Fold the narrow end vertically in two halves.
Step-13Bring the folded narrow end into the right region from front of the wide end. This would again create a horizontal band in front of the knot. During this step, the smooth side of the narrow end would face downwards while the open side would face the knot.
Step-14Feed the narrow end upward through the back of the collar loop on the right side.
Step-15Bring the narrow end downwards by passing it through the left side of the latest horizontal loop created in the previous steps. This would create a vertical band on the front of the knot.
Step-16Bring the narrow end into the right region from behind the wide end.
Step-17Feed the remaining narrow end through the vertical band created in the previous steps.
Step-17Tuck the excess narrow end behind the collar loop to conceal it.
Step-17Adjust each loop with your thumb so it’s nice and tight.
Step-17Grab the wide end and push the knot close to the center of the collar.
Step-18The final look should be that of a Trinity knot in middle which is surrounded by folds of narrow end in a triangular fashion.
Congratulations! You’ve executed the perfect look in just a few minutes. Intrinity knot is great for festive occasions and highly formal events where you want your ensemble to reflect crispness and sophistication.
